Walk to Erme Head
The source of the River Erme is on Dartmoor. This walk takes you from Gutter Tor car park to Erme Head. There are cattle and sheep; wildflowers and butterflies; boggy bits and sparkling streams.
The walk is 6km from the start to Erme Head, and then 6km back retracing your steps to Gutter Tor car park - 12km in total. The walk there and back takes around 3 hours.
It is a moderate walk with some up and down hills and rough terrain. Stout walking boots are needed!

Circular Walk to Longtimber Woods
This a beautiful walk along the River Erme and through Longtimber Woods. The walk starts in Ivybridge at the Harford Road car park.
It is a gentle walk with some steepish inclines. Wonder along the river at the top of Ivybridge and then into the woods for a circular walk that loops round in the wood and takes you back to Ivybridge.

The Bridges of Ivybridge
This walk has been devised by Victor Abbott. It's a fantastic 2.5 hour / 3.5km wander around Ivybridge, the River Erme and its bridges. Start (and finish) outside the Taproom in Glanville Shopping Centre and follow near and by the river discovering boundary stones; an aqueduct; leats & sluices; ice age boulders and more!

Ivybridge to Ermington and Back
This walk is a moderate walk (with some stiles and a flight of steps). It will take around 2.5/3 hours and is 8.5 miles long. It is a circular walk with some retracing of your steps. Start outside Ivybridge Leisure Centre (try their cafe for a great cup of coffee!). The walk roughly follows the River Erme to Ermington. It is mostly on public footpaths across fields, with a bit on small/medium roads.

Mothecombe - beach and woods
This is a gentle short walk downhill (so uphill on the way back!). Start at the School House Devon cafe next to the car park (at time of writing the car park costs £6.50) and walk down to Mothecombe Beach, next to the River Erme estuary. The walk to the beach is approximately 10 minutes. Have swim, go rock pooling, lie down in the sun (hopefully!). Then the walk back is around 15 minutes (it is uphill) and you'll trace the curve of the river.
