Reveal Hull (2024) transforms your smartphone into a cassette player complete with a cassette box of mixtapes you can listen to whilst exploring the streets of Hull, or back at home on your sofa.

The first tape out of the virtual box is the C60 cassette ‘Diamond Life’, an immersive sound and augmented reality walk dipping in and out of 60 years of Hull’s music history.

There are 10 orange signs along the ‘Diamond Life’ route and each sign there is an augmented reality marker to scan with your phone for added an AR bonus!

Reveal Hull has been developed and devised by Mutiny (Sophie Mellor, Marcus Romer and Simon Poulter). We have pioneered the web application model, working with locative media utilising a ‘platform approach’. This enables things to grow and expand in web, with no app to download.
