CATHI UNSWORTH is the author of four pop-cultural crime novels, Weirdo (2012), Bad Penny Blues (2009), The Singer (2007) and The Not Knowing (2005) and the editor of the award-winning crime compendium London Noir (2006), all on Serpent’s Tail. She began her career as a music journalist on the weekly paper Sounds in 1987 and the use of popular and indeed unpopular music has been integral to the framework of her novels. She regularly collaborates live and on recordings with musicians, including the cassette-only Tapeworm project, London-based band The Cesarians, Shaun of the Dead soundtrack co-composer Pete Woodhead and composer/musicians David Knight and Paul A Murphy.
